Ingredients

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Servings: 8 โ€ข ๐Ÿ”ฅ Calories/Serving: 250

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp instant yeast

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for brushing

  • 1 tbsp butter (optional), melted, for brushing

Steps

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

Step 2

Stir in minced garlic, cilantro, and parsley.

Step 3

Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Step 4

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth.

Step 5

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Step 6

Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll each into a ball and then flatten to form an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 7

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Cook each naan for about 2 minutes on each side, until puffed and golden brown.

Step 8

Brush each naan with butter or olive oil, and serve warm.

Make it your own!

  • Add Seeds: Sprinkle sesame or nigella seeds on the naan before cooking for an extra crunch.

  • Spicy Touch: Mix in some finely chopped green chilies to the dough for a spicy kick.
