Ingredients

🍽️ Servings: 8 β€’ πŸ”₯ Calories/Serving: 300

  • 1 bag of tortilla chips

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeΓ±os

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup guacamole

  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

Step 2

Line a large baking sheet or oven-proof platter with parchment paper.

Step 3

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula. Cook the beef until it's no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.

Step 5

Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to the package instructions, typically by adding a small amount of water and simmering for a few minutes.

Step 6

Spread a layer of tortilla chips on the prepared baking sheet, covering it evenly.

Step 7

Spoon the cooked, seasoned beef over the chips. Scatter the black beans and diced tomatoes evenly over the beef. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top, ensuring to cover the beef and veggies.

Step 8

Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Step 9

Immediately top with sliced jalapeΓ±os, dollops of sour cream, and guacamole. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Make it your own!

  • Skip the beef and layer with grilled vegetables like bell peppers and onions.

  • Change up the protein by using chili, pulled pork, or chicken.

  • Feel free to add other toppings such as corn, olives, or a drizzle of hot sauce.
