Ingredients

🍽️ Servings: 6 • 🔥 Calories/Serving: 150

  • 1 bottle red wine (750 ml), such as a Spanish red or a fruity red blend

  • 1/4 cup brandy

  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec)

  • 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

  • 1 orange, thinly sliced

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

  • 1 lime, thinly sliced

  • 2 cups soda water or lemon-lime soda, chilled

  • Ice cubes

Steps

Step 1

In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and honey or simple syrup. Stir well to combine.

Step 2

Add the mixed berries, orange slices, lemon slices, and lime slices to the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruit with a spoon to release their juices and flavors.

Step 3

Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2-3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the fruit to infuse.

Step 4

Just before serving, add ice cubes to the pitcher.

Step 5

Pour in the chilled soda water or lemon-lime soda to add a fizzy and refreshing element.

Step 6

Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

Step 7

Serve the summer berry sangria in glasses filled with ice, making sure to include some of the soaked fruit in each glass.

Make it your own!

  • Experiment with different types of berries, such as blackberries or cherries.

  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or simple syrup.

  • For a lighter version, use a rosé wine instead of red wine.

  • Add a handful of fresh mint leaves for an herbal twist.

  • Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh rosemary or a cinnamon stick for extra aroma.
