  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Maple-Glazed Apples and Sage:

  • 2 apples, cored and thinly sliced (use a sweet variety like Honeycrisp or Gala)

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Steps

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together pumpkin pie spice, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Rub the spice mixture over both sides of each pork chop.

Step 4

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Step 6

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 7

In a separate skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

Step 8

Add sliced apples and cook until they begin to soften, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 9

Stir in maple syrup and continue cooking until the apples are caramelized, about 3-4 minutes more.

Step 10

Add fresh sage leaves and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sage becomes crispy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 11

Plate the Pumpkin Pie Spiced Pork Chops and top each chop with the maple-glazed apples and crispy sage.

Step 12

Drizzle any remaining maple glaze over the pork chops. Garnish with additional fresh sage leaves if desired.

Make it your own!

  • Include a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.

  • Serve the pork chops over a bed of mashed sweet potatoes or butternut squash puree.
